How To Use HydroferaBLUE Foam Wound Dressings

Hydrofera Blue® Ostomy Ring Dressing

Hydrofera Bacteriostatic Foam Dressing is a sterile absorptive foam dressing made of Hydrofera Bacteriostatic (PVA) polyvinyl acohol sponge. Methylene blue (less than or equal to 0.00025 gr/gr), Crystal Violet (less than or equal to 0.00025 gr/gr).

Indications: Hydrofera Bacteriostatic Foam Wound Dressings are intended as an external dressing for use in local wound management such pressure ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers, diabetic ulcers, donor sites, abrasions, lacerations, radiation burns, post-surgical incisions, and other external wounds caused by trauma.
Contraindications: Hydrofera Bacteriostatic Foam Wound Dressings are note indicated for third degree burns.

How To Apply a Hydrofera Blue Dressing
 
1. Wound Site Preparation



a.       Prior to the initial application of HydroferaBlue Wound Dressing, the wound should be debrided of any necrotic tissue.
b.      Prior to the initial application of each Hydrofera Blue Wound Dressing, the wound should be cleansed with normal saline and/or an appropriate cleansing solution.
2. Dressing Application



a.       Remove dressing from package and place dressing with film side down.
b.      Hydrate exposed foam with approximately 24cc to 30cc of sterile saline or sterile water.
c.       Flip dressing over and Place Hydrated Foam side directly over wound leaving the Film side up away from the wound.
d.   Secure dressing in place with a suitable cover dressing.
