How To Remove Ostomy Paste
Ostomy paste such as ConvaTec's Stomahesive® Paste and Hollister's Adapt Paste are easily removed with the skin barrier after it has been in place for 48 hours. To remove the skin barrier from your skin, support the skin with one hand and gently peel the skin barrier away from your skin. Adhesive remover such as Unisolve or AllKare® Adhesive Remover Wipes may be used to facilitate skin barrier and/or adhesive residue removal. If not all Stomahesive® Paste is removed, use warm water and a soft cloth to remove the remaining paste. It is not necessary to remove all of the paste prior to a new application. The portion that is not easily removed should be left in place, rather than risking irritation to the skin by scrubbing to remove it.
